This is a letter that I was just about to send to Grandma dated March 13, 2005.

Dear Grandma,

I have to write you this letter to express to you how wonderful I think you are. You cannot begin to understand how frustrating it is for me not being able to get into my car to see you. I know that the well being of your future great-grandaughter is important so I promise you that I will sit still BUT as soon as Elizabeth is born, that car of mine will be on its way for a visit. You are without a doubt the most amazing woman I have ever met. You accepted me since day 1 as if I were your flesh and blood, and I have always accepted you as my grandma. You have always been there to talk to, get advice from and to laugh with. There are tons of memories of going to summer camp and getting a goody bag from you. I even have the Cinderella pop up book you bought me way back when. It's in Courtney's room now, but I still look at it and Courtney and I read it together, along with Goodnight Moon. Grandma, please know that i love you. That we all love you. Ghislain, Courtney and I as well as our little Elizabeth who should be here soon. I have always love you and I always will. I hope that when I become a grandmother, that I will be as loving as you. I have tons of fond memories, trips to Niagara, your special birthdays and listening to you sing. I will cherish every memory of you forever and fondly. I love you and I just needed to say all this to you since we don't have our phone calls to rely on for now. I will keep writing to you with updates, that way you won't miss anything. I just wish I was closer. I am sure mom and dad could use some help and extra support and I am sure you would love some extra company. I love you always.. Kim xoxoxox

Tribute to my grandmother Sylvia winter

A woman who has touched all our hearts dearly

September 9, 1920 – march 15, 2005

There are not enough words to express what kind of woman my grandmother was. She was a loving wife to my grandpa charles, a nurturing mom to my mother Barbara, my aunts, lynn, diane & sherri. my dad Kevin and uncle john were also sons to her. She was a special sister to Annabelle, Milton & Rita, and a very dear grandmother to Stewart, Jordan, Erin, and David, Kim & eddy and I. She was a sweet gamma gamma to Courtney.

Grandma in my eyes was a picture perfect example of what a grandmother truly is. She spoiled us with love, laughter and warmth. She was also a true confidante,

No matter what was going on in her life, she always had time to lend an ear. the only downfall was that you couldn’t call her when “all my children was on”.

Grandma loved to write stories in her journals of the many things she’s done. She loved to sing, read, knit, sew and play games,

Grandma has touched each and every one of our hearts in different but very special ways. I will always remember her smile, her warmth, tenderness, hugs & kisses. Grandma was a real inspiration. There is no one in the world half as wonderful as she was.

She may have passed on, but continues to live in our memories and through the tears, by thinking of her you can’t help but smile a little.

Dear Uncle Milt, Marcia, Rita and the rest of the family;

So sorry to hear about Sylvia's death--she was a vibrant, wonderful lady that we all have such fond memories of. We wish we were in Montreal to express our condolences in person but are still in Florida and unable to see you at this time.

We are thinking of you and send our sincerest sympathy. We wish you long life.

Love,

Judy & Harvey
