Tamara Joan Gallo

Surrounded by the love and tenderness of her family, after a brief struggle with cancer, the vibrant and gracious Tamara Gallo entered into the arms of her Lord. Tamara's last weeks were spent at the Lions Gate Hospital & Hospice where her family members stayed close and daughter-in-law- Victoria maintained a gentle presence. Dr. Paul Sugar and staff provided thoughtful care.

Tamara was predeceased by her loving husband Joe in June, 2008, and her niece Topaze, a kindred spirit, in December, 2010. Tamara will be missed more than words can express - by her cherished sons, Joe Jr. (Victoria) and Steven (Tania); her adored grandsons, Travis, Joey, and Jordan; her treasured sisters, Merle, Gale, and Tammi; her caring brother and sister-in-law, Ian and Elaine; her special niece Lynn; and many other nieces and nephews. Tamara loved to celebrate each season and occasion with colourful decorations to beautify her home. She lavished family and friends with her incredible cooking, baking, and hospitality. Traveling and exploring, particularly in warmer destinations, brought out Tamara's enthusiasm and sense of adventure. And along each road she traveled, Tamara flourished in fashion and wore it with style. She genuinely loved all animals and often cared for other's pets. A hard-working woman, willing to listen and contribute, Tamara was known to frequently go out of-her-way to help others. She loved music and devotional messages. Tamara was a beautiful person inside and out. Unforgettable once you met her. Every one of Tamara's many friends were special to her, and family wish to extend much gratitude to each person for understanding how difficult it was for her to accept company in her final weeks. She would whisper, "I appreciate that they would like to see me but I wish them to remember me as I was." A Celebration of Tamara's Life will be on Thursday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at North Shore Alliance Church located at 201 E. 23rd, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision or a charity of your choice. She will always be remembered for her sense of humour and quick laugh; her warm spirit, and deep faith.
