Tammy Grove Obituary
Tammy was a Life Long resident of Moss Bluff. She was a graduate of Sam Houston High school, class of 1980. In 1981, she married David who she would spend the rest of her life with. During their 34 years of marriage, she dedicated herself to their family of five children. She worked tirelessly and passionately as a mother, teacher, coach, nurse, maid, friend and mentor with all those she met in her years with various apostolates and activities.
Tammy was a member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church her whole life and was active in many church activities throughout the years: music ministry, Cursillo, Regnum Christi, Boys and Girls Challenge and Conquest camps, Bear Island and spiritual director.
Survivors include her husband David Grove; one son, Hunter Carlise Grove and his wife Shanna; four daughters, Austin Jade Blackwell, Marina Rain Grove, Noel Alaina Grove, Anna Grace Grove; three grandchildren, Taris Elizabeth Blackwell, Isaac William Blackwell, Jaxon Paul Grove; her mother Wanda Duhon; one brother Dennis Duhon and three sisters, Denise Manuel, Mary Nixon, and Dana Oliver.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until time of services at St. Theodores Catholic Church. A scripture service and rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, December 21. Celebration of Mass and Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 22,2015 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at New Richie Cemetery under the direction of Hixson funeral Home.
The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Delane Cryar, Denise Hull, Shila Cowart, Teenie Eckert, her nurse Courtney Montgomery, and everyone who gave time, support, and prayers.

I was blessed to meet Tammy during the Lourdes pilgrimage this past summer. There are no words to express the profound influence Tammy had in my life over that short time. I hope to be half as spiritually influential in others lives as she was in mine. I was priveledged to meet Tammy when I served as spiritual director for a recent pilgrimage to Lourdes and Fatima. Tammy's faith was monumental, and she was ready

I am very saddened that our precious Tammy is no longer gracing this earth. What a blessing He gave to everyone that met her. My little cousin was sweet, funny, and holy in each stage of her life. When I close my eyes today and remember her, my eyes are overflowing with tears because of the void that so many will have now without her bigger than life presence. That tiny little lady was bigger than life, that tiny little lady resonated holiness to all that was given the privilege to know her. The other I see is Tammys mouth wide open, and I hear resounding laughter that was so easily forthcoming. What a joy it was to be around her. She made everyone comfortable. She made everyone feel God's love. She led the true Christian life. I do not often think this, but I do truly believe that we were in the presence of a saintly woman. Our Lord treasures the hearts of His little children; as a child Tammy had that heart, and that heart only grew more holy as she developed into the beautiful woman who now sits in His presence. I love you sweet cousin.
