Tammy Helton Obituary
Tammy Renee’ (Long) Helton 55 of Tarkio, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, lost her battle to lung cancer November 10th of 2022 surrounded by the ones she loved.
She was born February 15th of 1967 at Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph to Madonna(Crail) Irminger and the late Franklin Long.
Tammy was a 1985 graduate of Benton High School in St Joseph and worked for Saint Joe Distributing for almost 30 years where she did accounts receivable and customer relations.
She enjoyed singing, dancing, shopping(mainly for shoes), collecting gnomes, bowling and spending time with family, friends, and her furbabies.
Tammy was diagnosed with lung cancer May of 2022. Although she lost her battle against cancer, she fought long and hard until the end. She tried to live each day as it came.
She was someone that everyone could count on in their time of need. She always held out a helping hand when and wherever it was needed. She had such a kind heart and soul. She was a tad bit sassy and had no issues expressing her opinion or speaking her mind. She loved and cared for everyone she came across as if they were her family. She never met a stranger; everyone was family or a friend.
Tammy is preceded in death by father Franklin Long, grandparents Russel(Ruby) Ragland and Harold(Chloe) Crail.
She is survived by mother Madonna(Kenny) Irminger of Agency, MO. Children: Candis(Adam) Stanton of Tarkio, MO, Cody Helton of Tarkio, MO, Ashley Sapp of Maysville, MO, and Bailey(Christian) Turner of Maysville, MO. Stepmother Karla(Bill) Duncan of Troy, KS. Siblings: Mike(Jeanette) Long of Richmond, MO, Kelly(Dave) Christenson of Arlington, TX and Danielle(Chad) Allenbrand of Spring Hill, KS. Grandchildren: Taylor(Alex), Justin, Jared(Morgan), Jacob, Chase, Ryder and Gracelyn. 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 1 great niece and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Sunday November 27th at 1:00 PM located at the Tarkio Community Building. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
Ms. Helton has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.

My sincerest condolences to Tammy's family and friends. She was far to young to have been taken from you.
I worked with Tammy in the office at St Joe Distributing many years ago. I knew both her sass and her kindness. I was lucky enough to be able to call her my friend. She will be missed by all. May she be at peace.

Family and Friends, I’m sooo very sorry for the Loss Of Tammy. I had met her, a few years back, @ Fast Gas & Convenient Store. She was always nice, fun, and a dedicated employee.
She had worked for St Joe Distributing for 30 Years.. that says it all.
I was fortunate enough to meet her Son, Cody. She loved Her Children & Grandchildren.
I missed seeing her and always wondered how she was. We actually ran into each other
@ the Hospital in Saint Joseph. When our eyes met, we both smiled & called each other by our first name, we took hands, and both spoke very Kind words to each other. We only had a second but we both made it worth our while. I told her, I will keep Her in my Prayers.
She smiled again Then We went our Separate Ways. That was our last visit Three Days After that, She Passed Away. My Prayers Are On The Way To All Of You.. And Of Course, Tammy. God Bless All Of You. You Can Pray To Her Now and She will Listen. Those Words came from a Wonderful, Monsignor, to me, when my Sister had passed away.
They are very True Teachings.

What can I say about this very special and amazing woman that isnt already known. Tammy was a very special person to me and my children. She started out being "just" a co-worker way back in 1994-1995 and over these many years she became my person. She was such an amazing person. I asked her to be my oldest sons Godmother, in which of course she greatly accepted. We shared secrets and stories, good times and bad times. She was always there when I needed anything. She was my Bingo partner, shopping partner, ladies night shopping events around st. Joe partner, smoke break times (She would call me and i would go across the street on her breaks at work and sometimes we would just sit there - not even talking, just to have eachother there somehow felt comforting.) I moved away a few years ago and time just goes by so fast. She has never left my thoughts and well wishes. I have missed our talks and get togethers. I don't know what else to say except, Candace and Cody - I'm so sorry and I know you already know what an amazing and special mom she was. I know she is very proud of you and will continue to always be watching over you. I love you both and miss you as well. I'll see you soon.
