Tanelle Dietz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 22, 2008.
TANELLE LYNN (GORNIAK) DIETZ- February 24, 1983 to November 20, 2008 Tanelle left to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on November 20, 2008 at the tender age of 25 years. Tanelle's wishes were granted as she passed away with all the people that she loved at her bedside holding her, as the Lord took her to be with Him. She was blessed in her final hours being able to hug, kiss and tell everyone that she loved them and will always be with them. Tanelle was predeceased by grandmother Shirley Czaplicki. Tanelle will be sadly missed by her husband Craig and two adorable children, Kyton (7 years) and Braylon (2 years). She will be forever loved by her parents Patricia Gorniak (Brandt Ross) and Doug Gorniak (Sherry Greenwood and her daughter Rachelle); brother Devan Gorniak (Shanna Ullrich). She will always be adored by her in-laws Susan and Darryl Dietz and brother-in-law Brent Dietz. She is cherished by her grandparents Gramma Willie Gorniak, Nick Gorniak (Shirley); Edward Czaplick; Granpa Bill Yeo and Grandma Ethel Dietz. She was blessed with wonderful aunts and uncles who treated her like their own; Linda and Abe Doerksen, Fay and Jim Schaeffer, Cathy and Darcy Schatz, Cindy and Kam Toor, Jayson Czaplicki, Michelle Liesch, David Liesch, Adele and Don McDowell; and all her wonderful cousins who are so dearly attached to her. Tanelle touched the hearts of many friends. She was given courage and support from her best friends Angela Evans, Amanda Wenger, Michelle Furutani, Joel Costea, Angel McConnell, Dianne Williams and Christine McLean. We give thanks for the constant prayers and blessings from Minister C.C. BraithwaiteMapp, Sister Audrey Daoust, Father John Mock, Father Lorne Crozon, Kate and Larry Fisher, Amanda Park, and the entire Harvest City Support Group. Tremendous thanks to Tanelle's Great Aunt Marie Shipley-Powell whose unwavering care and generous spirit was greatly appreciated. Thanks to the Chris Knox Foundation which helped make Tanelle's life more enjoyable. Also appreciated beyond words, the overwhelming care and love shown to Tanelle by the staff at William Booth Special Care Home and Hospice, many of whom knew Tanelle since she was a little girl and cared for her with love and compassion. Special thanks to all the doctors, especially Dr. McMillan, Dr. Haq, Dr. Klein and Dr. Johnson. Special thanks to Louise, Morgan, Lydia and the wonderful care team on Pediatric Oncologist, and the nurses on 3A, 3B and 3D, as well as Chaplain Cliff Geiger. Many thanks to the Tom Barker Cancer Center in Calgary. Special thanks to all the angels who appeared during Tanelle's journey, each chance meeting with someone who cared, including a visit by Paul Brandt, made Tanelle's life that much better each day. Everyone's love and prayers carried Tanelle through her painful battle with cancer and inspired in her a tenacity forged beyond limits. She kept strong each day for her boys. To be a wife was her biggest dream, To be a mom was her greatest achievement, To be a massage therapist was her greatest skill, To travel to Japan was her biggest adventure, To have been loved and been loved by so many was her greatest gift. Those who wish may donate to a trust fund set up for Tanelle's two young children, Kyton and Braylon Dietz at any Conexus Credit Union in the boys' names. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Parish, 7th Avenue East, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to sign an online book of condolences at www.regina-memorial.ca . Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home. (306) 789-8850.

To all the Gorniak family and to the Dietz's, we send our sympathies. We have thought often of the struggles Tanelle faced and how everyone in the family has needed to find the strength to be strong. We hope you can all find some peace, now that Tanelle has found her own peace.
With our heartfelt sympathy. From Brenda (Ziegler) & Chris Pick and our children Quintin & Kiera.

I believed in Tanelle. I believed in her strength and I thank her for showing this world that nothing is over until you decide it’s over. I’m so proud of her and our family. I wish her luck. I know things will turn out well for her now. I know that, now that’s she’s decided to let go, things will be better. She will no longer feel pain. She will no longer feel weak and she’ll be able to watch her family from a far. Rest in Peace Tanelle, you will forever be remembered.

Life.....so fragile, Loss....so sudden, Heart....so broken,...in the wake of such a loss, we are haunted by things we dont, and may never understand. Yet the solace we seek may not come from answers. So we look for comfort in the belief of love's everlasting connection. May that love lift you and hold you close, and give you peace.

May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead.

Tanelle was a beautiful young woman who fought the battle of her life with such dignity and grace. I was amazed at her strength and her thougtfulness for all the peope around her, thanking me for a little deed in spite of her pain, and making certain I got a bracelet that she so beautifully made. I pray for strengh for her children(Kyton and Braylon) and all the other family members who loved her so much. Keep each other close.
