What a loss to all of us. Tara was such an accomplished young woman who had so much more to give to the world.I am at a loss for words to express my saddness for you Grace, Dave, Rick, and Bailee. Bailee, this is such a tragedy in your young life, but, you will go on.It will be difficult for quite some time, but always, remember, your Mom will be looking out for you. Do your best and make her proud. There is nothing anyone can say to lessen your grief. You all have been and will continue to be in my thoughts and heart.

Dear Eckert Family,
What a true GEM you had in your lives with Tara. I pray that you all take comfort in the fact that she was so amazingly gifted, positive, passionate and truly LOVED by so many.
Our family was blessed when Tara was brought into our lives as our daughter's first grade teacher in 2004 at Van Gorder. Our daughter, Ariel adored Tara and it was obvious the feeling was mutual. Ariel was the youngest and tiniest in Tara's class and Tara always called her, her little baby doll. Ariel loved Tara's hair and constantly asked if she could cut her hair like Ms. Eckert.
Soon after, I too was hired at Van Gorder and became very fast friends with Tara. What a beautiful soul. I will miss her dearly and our family will always think of her with love and laughter.
Peace & Blessings,
Howard, Karen, Zachary & Ariel Benn

Tara will live on in the lives of so many of her students. She created a love for reading and art in both of my children. What an amazing teacher and friend. She will be greatly missed.

To the Eckert Family, I am heartbroken to hear about someone who I grew up with. I looked forward to every summer or spring break when she visited Long Beach. She has always been in my thoughts through the years, she is just one of those friends I could never forget but as life happens you lose touch and with all the medical problems reconnecting is not on anyone's mind. I especially know that from sufferering from depression the last 14 years. I wish that Bizzy and I could have connected with her this last September, I will never forgive myself for not making the trip. I hope that every day can bring a little peace to you and to know that she is in a wonderful place and is not suffering from any of these diseases and ailments. She is watching over all of you and forever in your hearts. Again so sorry for your loss.

Dave, Grace, Rick and Bailee: We are so sorry for your loss. There are no words that can ease the pain of losing a child, a sister or a mother. We have all been through tremendous loss in such a short time and we are praying God will bring you the peace and comfort he has brought us at this time and in the future.
Blessings, Dana and Cady Snell
