In memory of
Donna Chapin

Donna Chapin: I was sad to hear about Tarra. My daughter, Bethie, told me. I don´t know the circumstances that led to her death, but she was too young to leave this world. I remember sharing the "van pool" at Living Stones School and some fun conversations. I knew she worked with the Fort Bend Theater. I know she is with the Lord.

There is nothing like the feeling of being able to cheer for your child on the big stage. Tarra gave me that opportunity on so many occasions at the Stafford Centre. Her countless hours of work creating sets, directing, recruiting musicians, looking for costumes and set pieces all contributed to those magical moments. Through classics like Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and so many more she instilled a love of theatre and the arts into so many children and their families, including me. I am forever grateful. Now it is our turn to give Tarra a standing ovation. Thank you for the countless hours of work, your dedication, your love of children and your passion for the arts. Thank you for all those magical moments. Well done!

Ms. Tarra was my first theatre teacher and cast me in my first play at FBCT/FBT. She continued to teach and direct me over the years, and those experiences were some of my favorite childhood memories. I ultimately went on to major in Drama, write plays and perform as an adult - without Tarra I don't know if I would've followed that path. I'll always remember her warmth, wisdom and passion.

I will forever remember Tarra´s indomitable spirit...deep in faith, and full of wit and joy. She played a formative role in my adolescence, and I am internally thankful to her for her kindness, guidance and example. One of my favorite memories of Tarra is from a show which was interrupted by the sprinkler system going off. She didn´t bat an eye, but whisked us all into joyful action. She announced that the show was now "Showers for Algrenon" and 30 minutes later with the sprinklers off, but a drenched set, we proceeded with the show - in front of the curtain sans set.
My condolences and prayers to her dear family - and my prayers, love and thanks to dear Tarra.

Tarra and Fort Bend Theatre were an important part of my daughter Savannah´s childhood. She enjoyed participating in countless musical theatre camps and MainStage shows there over many years. Tarra truly loved her theatre kids and she will be missed by many
