Taylor Walz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 26, 2024.

Taylor Walz, age 62, of Seattle, WA passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2024. Born in Boise, ID on August 31st, 1961 to Liz and Skip and welcomed by her devoted Brother Skip.
Taylor Graduated from Kennedy Catholic High School and was on the Varsity Tennis Team – lettering all 4 years. Taylor continued her education at Griffin College in Renton and graduated with a degree in Secretary Office Skills. She dedicated many years of service as an Administrative Associate, working at One Oak Wealth Management and HBC Financial Services. Her professionalism and warmth made her a beloved figure among her colleagues.
Beyond her professional life, Taylor was a vivacious presence, known or her legendary fashion sense, often accentuated by her signature cute hates, handbags and stylish high heels. Her home was a reflection of her love for the outdoors, boasting a beautiful deck garden where she spent many joyful hours. Taylor's love for the simple things like driving her convertible, chocolate 'Red Mill' milkshakes, grilling a simple steak and cheering for their beloved Seahawks in her fan gear!
She was deeply committed to animal welfare, particularly the PUP rescue organization. Taylor fostered and trained numerous puppies and was a regular volunteer at PUP adoption events at several PNW PetSmarts. Taylor delighted in spending time with her son Robby, watching the Mariners and Seahawk games together and celebrating becoming a Grandma! Her role as an aunt was profoundly important to her; she was actively involved in her Niece Katie's life and celebrated every milestone. She attended her many ballet recitals, soccer games, band concerts and cheered at too many swim meets- with Grandparents in tow.
Taylor is survived by her brother Skip, sister-in-law Kay Lynn and niece Katie Walz and by her loving son Robby Mitchell, loving partner Michelle and beautiful son Landon. She was preceded in death by her parents Estol 'Skip' and Elizabeth 'Liz' Walz.

A Celebration of Life will be in Mid-September.

I first met Taylor when she worked next door to my office in the AGC building on Lake Union. I used to bring my 2 dogs to the office and was often struggling with their leashes and my briefcase to open the door to my office. She would come out to help and it was then I found out she was a dog lover. I would always wave at her when I passed her office and I remember her sweet smile and wave. When I moved up a floor to another office, I recommended to my colleagues we reach out to her to see if she might like a change of scenery. Fortunately for us, she took us up on our request and was our receptionist for the past 3 years. You could always count on her smile and calm demeanor and I know our clients were very appreciative of that when they called us. Gone too soon. We will miss her.

I am so sorry to hear of Taylor's passing. She was such a bright light, always with a smile on her face when I worked with her at Kidder, Peabody years ago. But more than that...Taylor was a special friend who was willing to watch my boys when they were young. We lived close to Taylor's parents and I especially remember her at Halloween when she'd stop by with amazing goodie bags for my boys filled with awesome treats for two little boys. She stopped by my house a few years ago...just before covid I think and we had talked of getting together and going to the movies, etc. but then covid happened and I have since moved to Arizona. She was driving the convertible and she sparkled! And that's how I'll remember her:)

Taylor was a true delight who always brightened the day each time we called HBC or walked in the office. Sending warm thoughts to her family.
