As the days, weeks and all the 1st without Ted pass , and as you return to life's routine , may you continue to feel comforted by the love, prayers and support of family and friends.
The last family visit of Ted to Saskatoon with Zahra,Aleem and Sabina and sister Maritess last September 2009 was so beautiful and sure will always be treasured. Ted you left a big void in our life , you are gone but will always be in our hearts.

To our dearest Ted

We have memories in our pockets.
They rattle among the change.

Our memories of you are treasures we carry wherever we go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give us comfort when we think we are alone.

Yes, we have memories in our pockets, like so much other stuff we keep there.

But of all the treasures we have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Loving you forever

The suddenness of Ted's death makes acceptance very painful. However, we know that God has His own reason for taking Ted back to him at such a young age. . . .
Last night I was able to show Cesing Teds picture and the obituaries, which definitely picture Ted as a person respected and responsible and well loved by his clients and community. He will always be remembered that way - God be praise for his legacy of goodness. . . . Sayang he never had the chance of bringing his family to visit his roots in the Philippines.

Surely, it will take time to heal the pain of parting, but rest assured he is the loving care of Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother. We had a novena of Masses in memory of Ted at the Fatima Chapel of the Carmelite Sisters of Our Lady.
Take care both of you and Maritess. God bless and let's continue to connect with each other through prayers.

Love,

Cesing, Laling, Dela and Soling

In listening to the young man who paid tribute to your son, Ted, during the funeral service for him and in seeing the numbers of people who were at the church and later at his internment, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that your son was respected, loved and admired so so many many people. I regret I never knew him in person.

I did not have the opportunity to tell you this because I've been on the road again. The night before I left Victoria I had dinner with my sister-in-law and a friend of hers. This friend is an 80-something gentle-hearted person by the name of Kathy. We told Kathy about Ted. She said that on the Thursday of his funeral, she had gone to her local pharmacy but was told they had to close shop temporarily because the staff had to attend a funeral. The staff had tears in their eyes when they were telling Kathy they were going to terribly miss their "boss". Only when we were at the dinner table did Kathy make the connection.

I know there is nothing we can say or do that will take away the pain of your loss. We can only pray that God grants you peace soon and the happy memories of Ted take over and help you get through each day. Please let Marites, Zahra and her family know that our thoughts are with also them. I know that in time, when they are old enough, Ted's and Zahra's son and daughter will find out too what a wonderful father they had.

Please take care and know that your cousins, nephews and nieces, and your family are here for you.

Ted always went above and beyond his duties as my pharmacist. He was always available to dispense advice, no matter how busy he was. He was instrumental in guiding me through a difficult and painful pregnancy. The successful and healthy birth of my son in June was in part because of Ted; his time, patience and incredible professionalism were a large part of this success. He was always warm, kind and had an incredible gentle smile. Our sympathies to his wife and children, mother and father and the rest of his extended family.

Glayne and I were deeply grieved to hear of Ted's untimely passing. We watched Ted and our son Bob grow up playing tennis tournaments together and billeting between our home in Regina and and the Carino residence in Saskatoon. Ted was a good sport who competed hard and at the same time had fun.
Our hearts go out to Art, Herminia and Ted's wife and young family. We will always cherish fond memories of the times we shared with Ted. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a smile for everyone.

I'm an old friend of Marites. I never met Ted, but I'm so sorry to hear that he has died, and my heart goes out to his family, and especially Marites. Marites, if you are reading this, I've been thinking of you and will be in the days to come. The next time you're in Saskatoon (or I in Montreal) it would be good to see you.

I was fortunate enough to meet Ted several years ago at a Peoples Drug Mart function. He always expressed interest in how my pharmacy studies were coming along. In the summer of 2007 I completed a practicuum at Ted's Shawnigan Lake Pharmacy, he took time out of his day several times to guide me in my pharmacy practice. Ted, you were an outstanding profressional and more importantly, an outstanding person. You will be sorely missed.

My deepest condolences to Ted's family, friends, and colleagues. I can only imagine the terrible pain and grief you are experiencing. As a customer of Ted's I was fortunate to experience his wit and intelligence firsthand. He knew ALL of his customers by first name, which speaks volumes of his caring nature and the passion for his chosen profession.
What a terrible loss for the community, and what a tragic loss for his family,
with deepest sympathy,

Ted was one of the best friends and doubles partners I've ever had and I know that many other people can say this too. He was a kind, compassionate man who also had a very mischievous side. As junior tennis players in Saskatchewan we took pride in tormenting our tennis coach Debbie as well as corrupting several younger players (all in good fun though). As time has gone on we grew up, got busy with life and had less contact with each other, but Ted's infectious personality and friendship molded me into the person I am today. I will miss Ted tremendously and my thoughts are with his Mum, Dad, Sister, Wife and kids.

I was shocked to hear of Ted's accident. So young and so promising. I had to go searching for this photo. This is the way I will always remember him: a sweet, lovely boy. He must have 4 years old in this photo.

My heart goes out to his children and family. May memories of him sustain them in this difficult and sad times. My deepest condolences. Prayers are said for him. May he rest in peace.

Ted saw me at Shell station in Mill Bay after work and said Hi. I told him I was trying to get to his store before he closed but didn't make it. He went and opened his store and gave me my med's and said to pay on Monday as they were closed on Sunday. I couldn't believe someone in this day and age would do that. He definately will be missed.

It is with great sadness that I send my condolences to Zahra and children, Art, Hermina and family on the loss of your lovely husband, son and brother.

As I have gone through a similar experience I know first hand the pain you are going through right now. This poem was given to me and my family and I hope you will find comfort in its words.

An Irish Funeral Prayer

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

I have made a contribution to the Aga Khan Foundation Canada in Ted's honour.

Pauline McGuirk, Douglas McIlveen and family.
