In memory of
Terry Tubb
May 18, 2021
I knew Teel Bivins from the Senate 31 lunch meetings at The Petroleum Club bi- monthly. He was a fine man who represented this area perfectly in the Texas Senate and was a champion of tort reform. I was vaguely aware of the intertwining of the Bivin's Ranches and the XIT ranch. We all share in your loss.

Teel Bivins was a big-hearted man who could have done anything with his life--oil and gas tycoon, rancher, playboy, philanthropist, spoiled rich guy.... Instead, he enriched the lives of all Texans with his legislative reforms. It was my great honor and pleasure to have worked for him.

Teel Bivins was an amazing public servant. His contributions, expecially those in public education, reflect high plains common sense and high expectations for all Texans. He was a practical and inventive legislator who worked tirelessly for a better Texas. We will miss you Teel.

Although we did not always agree on what was best for Texas, Senator Bivins was a hard worker who treated everyone with respect....A true Texan.

In 1989 Teel Bivins and Bill Ratliff came to the Texas Senate together. He was number 31 in seniority and I had the privilege of working for Senator Ratliff who was number 30 in seniority. As they grew in seniority and grew in respect, they also grew as dear friends. He loved being a the Senator from Potter and he treated the staff around him (both his and the other senate staffers) with the utmost respect. He was my friend and I will miss him

My six years as a member of Teel's Austin staff were among the best of my career. He was a hard worker, intelligent, and cared about people. I will always treasure my memories of this very good man.
