Dr. Terence Harvey

Dr. Terence "Terry" Harvey, 68, of Edwardsville, Ill., born July 13, 1944 in Grass Valley, Calif., passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Kindred Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Terry graduated from Belleville High School in 1962. In 1966 he married Rosemary Wilson, the love of his life at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, Ill. He graduated from University of Illinois Veterinary School in 1968, after graduation he worked at a small animal practice in Chicago, Ill. Terry was the former director of veterinary medicine for the Food and Drug Administration in Washington D.C. He then worked for Monsanto in St. Louis, Mo. Terry retired from the E.P.A. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was in charge of the safety of the drinking water in the United States. He was also very active with the W.H.O. World Health Organization on Global drinking water. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, trout fishing, gardening, watching sports and he loved all animals. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren, whom he adored. Terry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Roache.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Harvey of Edwardsville, Ill.; dear mother, Doreen, nee Beckerleg, Roache of Belleville, Ill.; two wonderful children, Michele (Robert) Wilson, of Atlanta, Ga., and Scott (Claire) Harvey of Chicago, Ill.; four adoring grandchildren, Madeline Wilson, Clayton Wilson, Ryan Harvey and Lindsey Harvey; brother, Ted (Julie) Harvey of Belleville, Ill.; and nephew, Ted (Regan) Harvey of Jupiter, Fla.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral: In celebration of his life, funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with Monsignor Virgil Mank as celebrant and Father Pat Jakel as concelebrant. Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto, Ill.
