Teresa Anne Garner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 10, 2025.
Teresa Anne "Teri" Garner, 62, passed away on February 23, 2025, in Modesto, California, after a courageous battle with end-stage ovarian cancer.

Born on October 5, 1962, in San Luis Obispo, California, Teri graduated from Modesto Christian High School before beginning a career in the fashion industry. She started at Gingis Formalwear at Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto and worked her way up to store manager. After the birth of her daughter, she transitioned into healthcare, beginning as a billing specialist at Memorial Hospital in Modesto. Her dedication led to a long and successful career with Sutter Health in Sacramento, where she ultimately became an IT Coordinator. She remained with Sutter Health for approximately 20 years.

Teri was known for her creativity and resourcefulness. She had a passion for crafting, including scrapbooking, crocheting, calligraphy, jewelry making, and coloring. As a teenager, she even sewed and made all of her own clothing. She loved road trips and cherished every opportunity to make memories with those she loved. Disneyland was her favorite vacation destination, where she found joy in the magic of the park-especially anything related to her favorite character, Tigger.

Her faith was central to her life. She found great joy in her church family at Village Christian Fellowship and was deeply committed to serving others. Whether volunteering at the food kitchen or helping those in need, Teri gave selflessly of her time and resources. Her generosity knew no bounds-if you admired something she had, she would gladly give it to you without hesitation.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Nichole Garner; siblings Mary Ericksen, Ginnie (Bob) Murach, Donna Marchetti, John Marchetti, and Roxy (Clay) Bragg; as well as her adopted family-mother Nellie Sperry; siblings Debra Qualls, Sharon (Randy) Baldwin, Donnie Staal, Steve Staal, and Roy Sperry. She was preceded in death by her father John R. Marchetti; stepmother Diane Marchetti; stepfather Donald Sperry; sisters Diana Cunningham and Connie McCormick; brother Roger Marchetti; and brother-in-law Jeff Qualls.

Teri's family and friends take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior. Her generosity, laughter, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who had the blessing of knowing her.
