Teresa Daley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 23, 2022.
Teresa W. Daley, 57, of Bronxville died Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

Born on November 14, 1964 in New York City, her parents Helen (Brennan) Woods and Michael Francis Woods relocated the family to Bronxville, NY in 1967. Teresa (Terri) graduated from School of the Holy Child in Rye, NY and received her BA from Providence College in Providence, RI. Terri spent her early career in the insurance industry in New York, and was a Vice President with AI Credit, a subsidiary of AIG.

After living in Manhattan for 35 years, Terri returned to her hometown of Bronxville, NY to reside on the very same street that she had grown up on. When she welcomed her first child, Claire, in 2005, Terri decided to devote her energies to motherhood, and she enjoyed and excelled at it. She could somehow always find the right words of comfort and guidance, and her daughters never tired of Mom telling them "I love you to the heavens and beyond".

Terri will be missed dearly, despite her tendencies toward slow driving, tight-fisted budgeting, and her preference for tuna casserole. She loved to bake, and family and friends will miss the arrival of her bountiful Christmas cookie packages. Despite her health challenges in recent years, Terri continued to gift her family with her devotion, her steadfast love and her wonderful laugh.

Terri is survived by her husband of 25 years, Shaun Daley, and her daughters, Claire and Evelyn; her siblings, Michael and wife Sherry (Fort Pierce, FL), and Stephen and wife Cindy (Catonsville, MD), and her nephews Anthony, Maxwell and Colin. She was predeceased by both parents.

The family will hold a memorial Mass and celebration of Terri's life at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville, NY in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, a haven for her family over the years.

My cousin Teresa... Fun times rolling down the hill in front of your childhood home, dinners together with your family, Summers at your East Quogue house and walking down to the beach to hang out, barbecues on the back deck, family get togethers in East Northport with the girls, good talks, your throaty laugh...!! In my heart forever.

For those other than Shaun, I am his classmate from high school and junior high school, and I wish that passing of time will soften the impact of this great loss.
