Teri Marie Calhoun

I am so sorry to hear about your devastating loss. I went to high school with Teri. She graduated a year after me. We also used to be in scouts together. We are keeping her in our prayers.

Teri...thank you for pool parties at Purdue, goofing off at work, introducing me to low fat foods, always having the good gossip, and being such a fun person to be around.

Words cannot express the sadness I felt when hearing about Terri's passing. She was so much more than a coach to me; she was a friend, a teacher, a role model I looked up to, and someone who taught me to enjoy life because you never know when it could be taken away. During my senior year I saw Terri everyday during her lunch and the only thing we ever talked about was Pantherettes, we were such a big part of her life and she was a huge part of ours. Her finding out how sick she was during my senior year didn’t stop her, she still never gave up on us. I remember her sitting on the gym floor at practices wrapped in scarves and blankets feeling like she was going to fall over but pushing us to work harder and telling us that our toes weren’t pointed. My senior year of Pantherettes was the best year, because of her. Every time I pull out my Gerber daisy pens she comes to mind. She is truly missed everyday, all of my sympathies.

Lisa,words can not express the sadness that is felt hearing the loss of your daughter. The years that she put up a brave fight with cancer it never gave her a chance to over come it.I keep asking myself WHY??? Why do the good... die young? She was a truly beautiful individual that i know will be missed dearly. Your in my thoughts.

Calhoun family,

I had some education classes with Teri my freshman and sophomore year at Purdue. I loved getting to know her and really enjoyed her personality. We had lots of fun together, always laughing and making the classes much more bearable. I regret not having talked to her the last few years, but this is a good reminder for me to not take life for granted and to value the life that God has given me and all of us. I will miss Teri dearly, and I will certainly be praying for your family.

I will certainly miss my cousin very much. My fondest memory of Teri is when Lisa let me take her for ice cream, not long after I got my driver's license. Teri spent the entire car ride telling me how much her teacher's liked her, and how smart and pretty she was. And you know what? She was completely right! She was an amazing, beautiful person that was a light in her family and friends lives.

Teri will always be an amazing girl with a beautiful smile. I will keep her in my heart with fond memories. My deepest sympathies to you as I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Teri's family and loved ones. I was lucky enough to get to know Teri while she taught at Hobart--I moved her into my classroom and the mother hen instincts kicked in. It was friendship at first sight. I loved talking to her and listening to her stories. She was deeply missed when she left Hobart, and now, she is deeply missed again in her passing. May God hold you all in His arms and cradle your aching hearts. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am truly sorry for your incredible loss.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Calhoun,
I was deeply saddened to read Teri's obituary in the newspaper this morning. I had Teri as a student in 5th grade at Franklin 1995-1996. I had the pleasure of seeing her everyday and working with her during Student Council. She was such a special person and I always knew that she would go on to be an amazing young woman. She gave me a copy of an essay that she wrote about me, called, "My Teacher is Special". That essay touched me so deeply and I have kept it all of these years as a reminder of why I became a teacher. I am truly sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace.
