Very sad. Such a wonderful person. My life will always be a little emptier without her in this universe

I learned today of Terra's passing and was both shocked and saddened. It is so difficult to believe that such a vibrant, intense light no longer shines. Terra brightened my years at SAIT, and remained a good friend after we had finished our schooling. I will always remember her smile, her laughter, her intelligence and her passion for life. Terra taught me how to cook "perfect bacon" and was a truly fun individual - I will miss her very much. My deepest sympathy to Neil, Christine, Peter and the rest of the Albertine and Counsell families.

It with with shock and sadness that I write thinking of Terra, a truly genuine person with a huge heart, a hearty laugh, a beautiful smile,and a natural gift for conversion, and fine cooking!!Always the best host!I will cherish so many memories of the times that Terra and I spent together. Although it has been some years since I have seen Terra, she has always held a place in my heart as a wonderful friend. My family and I offer our deepest sympathies to the Albertine family in this most difficult time for you.

Terra's passing has come as a shock to me. In this loss I try and find something positive to hold and share with her loved ones that are grieving her passing. She lit up a room by her spontaneous energy and laughter. She still lights up my mental room when I think of her. She was struggling with some of life's most difficult battles these last years and her courage, setbacks, and perserverance are lessons that will never leave me.

To Terra's family I send my love,support and sympathy.

I just found out about Terra and the accident today. I wanted her family to know what a joy she was at work and how much the patients enjoyed her being there.

Dear Christine, Peter, Trisha, Trelia, Joanne (all the Smits)and the Counsell family and of course friends,

So so tremendously devasted to hear of your loss. Terra was a good friend for many many years and while I hadn't seen her in awhile - she always defined a very special part of my life by her presence at so many important and memorable occasions in both of our lives. Her laughter and smile was so infectious that you couldn't help but be lifted up by it if you were lucky enough to be nearby her.

My prayers go out to all of you and know that I will holding you all in my heart asking somehow, someday, that you/we will see her again and have some peace of heart.

I just found out about Terra.I was hit with unbelievable shock and sadness. I'm so sorry I was unable to attend her Memorial yesterday. I will always remember Terra's strength and spirit. Her and I had a lot of fun memories together in High School. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I just found out about Terra this morning, this is awful news. Terra and I were close friends since the mid-80's. I cannot believe she is gone. We hadn't talked much over the past year or so--just busy with work and life. I truly regret not keeping in better contact, but I thought we could always catch up in the future. We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Terra has touched many people with her kindness, honesty and her huge heart. I worked with Terra and from there it grew into a friendship. She cooked a mean spaghetti and meatballs. She has touched my family and I in a special way and we will miss her dearly. Terra loved her dogs and I am sure that they are missing their mom. I am so sorry to hear of Terra's passing. It was long ago when I last saw her, but I always remembered her smile and her heart-warming laughter... a truly wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To Chris, Peter, Trisha, Trelia, Joanne and family, I am so sad and sorry for your loss. I can only imagine what you are going through right now. Terra was my first 'best friend', we shared our hopes and dreams, our seat on the bus, so much laughter and so many wonderful memories. Even though we hadn't see each other these last few years she was always in my heart. Terra was a very special person, anyone that met her could see that right away. She shined in her own very unique way and the world was a better place for it. And her smile could sure light up a room! I had seen that many many times. Here is an excerpt on death by Kahlil Gibran that gives me consolation:

To the Family of Terra:

I am so sorry to hear about Terra's untimely passing. I moved to Regina a year ago and Terra & I met for dinner just before I left Edmonton. We enjoyed a bottle of wine as she showed me hers and Neils wedding photos. She was so happy!! She was truely a very genuine, special person. She will be missed.

I went to Ardrossan High School with Terra and remember her energetic spirit, passion and independence. My heartfelt condolences.

A beautiful face and a contagious smile .. our heart aches for her loved ones ..may she be still smiling and peaceful in her resting place! Strong and quickest recovery to Neil and to his family, you are in our thoughts and prayers!

I had the wonderful and hilarious experience of backpacking to Europe with Terra and Lynne in the early 1990's. I have always looked back on the times with great fondness and I will cherish those memories even more so now. I remember her huge, radiant smile and how it drew everyone to her.
Upon hearing the devastating news of her passing my 5 year old had asked why I was sad and crying? I told her about Terra, our trip, her laugh, her hair..and her smile. My daughter's response, "God needed her smile in heaven".

Terra was a good friend to me and my sister Lynne. We went to Ardrossan High School together, road a bus home everyday and shared many close friends. Terra had a terrific sense of humour and her glib and irreverent style was a delight. While I have not seen Terra in many years I always counted her as one of my favourite teenage friends. Ms. Albertine, Peter, Neil, Joanne and Trelia, I am so terribly sorry you have lost her. Your whole family must be devastated and I send you my most profound and heartfelt condolences. TLC - that was one of the first things I had noticed when looking at booked dental appointments on my first day of work at Magathan Dental Centre over 2 years ago.
I wondered what tender loving care had to do with an appointment..
but Terra then told me it was her initials.
I quickly learned how perfect those initials were for her,
she was all that.. Tender, Loving, Caring.
She made being at work that much better with her contagious laughter, beautiful smile, and loving personality.
I am blessed to have known Terra and she will be terribly missed.

TLC - forever in our hearts.

The Department of Dentistry, University of Alberta, is deeply saddened by Terra's passing. Although she joined our staff only recently, her warm and generous spirit will be greatly missed.

When our daughter Lynne told us of Terra's passing it broke our hearts.
