Terrance M. Twite

There will be a memorial gathering for Terrance Twite from 5:30 p.m to 8 p.m. Monday, April 10, at Dibble Funeral Home, 213 W. Main St., Kasson.

Terrance died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at his home.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Jan. 28, 1951, to John and Mary (Lamek) Twite. His family moved to Brownsville to open the Shellhorn Supper Club when Terrance was a teenager. He married Bonnie Klug on Dec. 31, 1972, in Caledonia.

Terrance was the proud papa of Tylar (Sara), Manya, Andrew (Stacy), Nick, and Leah (Myles), and was special "Papa T" to grandchildren Oliver and Maiara.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary; infant brother, John; and beloved daughter, Manya.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, Julie Twite and Mary (Phil) Hoiland, brothers-in-law, Jerry (Susie) Klug, and Bill (Sue) Klug, and sisters-in-law, Jane (Ivan) Fernandez and Barbara (Jeff) Klug.

Following the death of his father in 1973, Terrance joined his mother in business, building on and creating Shellhorn Roadhouse on the Mississippi, where you could "bring your load by boat or road." The Twites enjoyed serving many loyal customers and friends until Shellhorn was heavily damaged by fire in the summer of 1986.

In 1987, Terrance and his family relocated to Dodge Center where he developed the Wasioja Education Technology Co-op, providing interactive TV services to several area school districts. He served as the Director of WETC until his retirement.

Terrance leaves behind his loving family and true friends who share countless memories of happier times.
