Terri Nunes Obituary
Born February 13, 1960 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Coleman "Ronnie" Hedrick and Shirley Ann Jefferson Sutphin. She was a retired special education teacher for the Chesterfield County School System. Terri loved quilting and was accomplished flutist. She was a child prodigy musician and started playing in the band and composing her own songs in the 4th grade, then started playing with the Gretna High School Band in the 7th grade where she made 1st chair Symphonic Band at Regionals. Terri graduated from Gretna High School in 1978, received her Bachelor's from Radford University and her Master's in Special Education from Old Dominion University.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Nunes and Benjamin Nunes; two sisters, Tami Arthur and husband, Al and Tracie Hedrick.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in the Liberty Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.

I hired Terri as a Special Education teacher in Goochland County, where she worked at Goochland Elem. and Randolph Elem. for many years. She was a delightful person to be around, and she was definitely an outstanding educator. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside her as her principal at both schools. Terri touched hundreds of children's lives and she made such a positive impact on everyone with whom she came in touch. I will cherish the fond memories of fun times with Terri, and forever hold her as a dear friend. Please know my thoughts are with the family during this time of sadness and loss.

I worked with Terri at Elizabeth Davis Middle School as we shared responsibilities of serving our students. Terri was very involved and detailed in her work with students. She was always a great listener and friendly to all. You all will be in my prayers at this very sad time.
