Dear Sharon,
Words cannot do much - but you and your family are in my thoughts. There's no lack of courage, wisdom, and strength in the Cook family and I have faith that Terry's legacy lives on.

I read of Terry's death in the weekend Citizen. Cancer is a thief stealing loved ones with no respect for age or respect of the victim's contribution during their life. It leaves behind heartbreak only for family and friends who must carry on. My sympathy to you all.

Terry has certainly left the building! Sadness is appropriate but I have many fond memories of my visit to your house in Ottawa in the 1990s and your sabbatical later in Canberra and other encounters with Terry. Great guy. Condolences to you Sharon and the family

Dear Sharon and family, our deepest sympathies on the loss of Terry. I very much looked up to him as the older, wiser and larger cousin. He was clearly blazing the trail for the rest of us. I can attest to his love of rock and roll and was always in awe of his amazing record collection, even as far back as the 60's. I am sorry we hadn't kept in touch over the years.

Sharon, I am so sad. When I look at his picture I am reminded of my dad (Allan Cook)and two brothers(Ted and Kent Cook). He seems to me like a mix of all three. I wish I could have know him better. I love our Cook heritage and would love to connect with you and your children. My heart hurts for you and your family. Janis Cook Klingman

Dear Sharon, Tim and Graham,
Just a note to express Linda and my condolences for the loss of Terry.
We were, to say the least, both shocked since we had not heard of Terry's illness. We spent the Winter in Bradenton, Florida out of reach of any Canadian news.
The Memorial Service in Terry's honour was splendid in every way imaginable. A excellent range of speakers dealt with all aspects of Terry's life, one lived to the very fullest, and filled many blank pages for those of us who only knew Terry's professional life.
Terry will be sorely missed by family, friends & colleagues in and outside the Archival world.
Please accept our warmest condolences and rest assured that Terry will be in our memories for a long time to come.

Sincerely,

May 19, 2014

My sympathies Sharon to you and your family. I have known Terry since 2000 when he first arrived in Winnipeg to teach Archival studies. He came in with Tom of course. Laura and I worked in the general office so we saw them regularly. I could not help but notice his cheerful outlook and his beautiful smiling eyes. I called him my teddybear because of his size and the warm hugs he gave after not seeing us for a few months. He was the most kind gentle person (along with Tom since they were joined at the hip). The archival world has lost a great scholar but most importantly a wonderful man.

My deepest sympathies,
Shirley Bibeau

Well, Terry it is now left to me to write about Aristotle and Archives...but we sure had fun talking about it. To the Cook Family, your Terry touched so many, and will be deeply missed.
