I first met TJ in track at West Valley in Yakima...but it wasn't until 10 years later that I got to know TJ on a more personal level.
He was and still is an inspiration, and certainly embraces those words..Carpe Diem!
Thank you TJ for being an encouraging friend, and for the laughter you brought into my life in such a short period. Whenever I think something is impossible I will think of you, and know that anything is possible if you want it badly enough.
Blessings to you,
Christina

It had been 25 years since I have thought of TJ, but this year my daughter started her first year of cross country and I had been thinking about him and the past and to hear of this accident has made my memories sadly bitter/sweet. I do though, remember our cross country races at West Valley vividly. TJ and I used to dual it out between the 6th and 7th spots on the West Valley cross country team. He would either beat me by a large margin or on occasion, I would sneak by him towards the end of the race. Those personal battles and fun bring a huge smile to my face as we both enjoyed the competition and friendship. What I remember most is he always seemed to find the positive in a situation. He was always upbeat and would embrace any personal victory with huge exuberance. I only knew TJ for 1 year in high school before he graduated, but he made a lasting impression. To me, that say a lot about the heart and soul of a person and the life the lived.

I remember the pride TJ and his younger brother, Matt had when their younger sister was born. They had many momets of enjoying her and helping her learn new things. When we ask to become honorary Grandparents to Joy it was with the understanding that we would not try and take the place of the two older brothers grandparents because they had memories of them. As Joy would not have many memories of a grandparent and we were without Grandchildren it worked out well.

TJ was full of such fun and adventure. He was a dear friend and I remember many great times with him but certainly standing in endless lines for the SIFF and him showing up with cartons of ice cream to smuggle into the theater :) He will be missed!

For some reason this memory popped right into my head. TJ started an all male cheer group in highschool called the "Rad Pack". We all wore bathrobes and cowboy hats. There were at least a half dozen of us and we had a great time making up stupid cheers and being generally raucous.
I look forward to hearing more memories.
