Dad was an example of integrity. He always did the right thing and instilled in us by example, to do your best and always be honest. Dad had a tough exterior but had a soft heart and would easily break down if he said a simple prayer over a meal or said how much he loved me and my brothers. When Dad would say he was proud of me, it was such an uplifting feeling. I would often hear Mom telling me how much Dad bragged about me and my brothers. If you ever were picked on or teased by Dad, that meant you were alright in his book and that you mattered to him. It may not sound like much but knowing my Dad, it was his strange way of honoring you and actually showing his respect. You may hear me or my brothers laughing or joking around about Dad not being around but he would have it no other way. :-) This also helps us handle our grieving process. Thank you to everyone that has left comments here and on Facebook. Your words and thoughts mean a lot. Please pray for us and tell your loved ones as often as you can how much they mean to you and that you love them. Speak life with your words. They mean more than you know. I'm going to miss him so much. Each time we got together, it was a lot of fun and time would fly by. Speaking of time flying by... It's hard to believe that tomorrow marks a week gone by since he passed. Today would have been his 70th birthday. He'll be laid to rest tomorrow but will live on in my heart as the best man I've ever known. I love you, Dad! Love, Paul
