I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve known Terry since 1986. I got to visit with him last summer when I popped in and there he was rocking in his chair on the screen porch. Terry was so instrumental in getting me involved in Ham Radio which was a connection that lasted for years and years At one time many years ago he opened his home to me when I was going through a difficult time I, like many others, will never forget him.

Terry, I just saw that you passed and I am so sad. We went to college together and you was in all my classes. It was 2 weeks before I realized that you were blind. We walked to classes together and I had no idea. You use to tell me the things you did at home and I was amazed. You became my idol. I have always thought about you and bragged about you to everyone. R.I.P. my Friend, I will always Love you like a Brother!

I'm unable to attend Terry's Celebration of life, but I would like to share these thoughts.
Terry was my co-worker, more importantly, he was my friend. He was the most “sighted” person I ever met. We were all amazed with his phenomenal ability to perform everyday tasks with ease. Terry kept his expectations realistic, therefore, he did not let physical obstacles stand in his way. He always had the right tool for the job.
When I speak of Terry being “sighted” it is because of his intellect. Always curious, he was an avid reader on many different subjects and was always eager to share his thoughts. He loved a good debate that would challenge himself and others to think outside the box.
Lastly, Terry had a heart of gold and that toothy smile to go along with it. He would do whatever he could if you needed a helping hand, but it went both ways. I enjoyed being his work chauffeur. Many times, I visited with him after work for stimulating conversation, chit-chat and laughs. One day he wanted to show me his new “glasses”. Turns out they were glasses with a video camera mounted on them. It’s really more technical, but I’ll leave it at that. He told me, he had been a passenger on a drive with the glasses on. He found it quite distracting that the glasses were reading every single sign along the road to him. He asked me, “How do you deal with that?” I simply said, “White noise. Just like you tune out certain sounds.” He got the meaning of my answer.
I can’t imagine Terry “resting in peace”. I see him with the biggest angel wings soaring through the universe to see what he could not see in life.
Fly high my friend, I shall miss you.
