Terry Trudell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 28, 2024.
Spicewood - My dear unique husband was freed from his earthly pain Nov 29, leaving us too early but at the right time. His sons Marshall and Stephen and wife Rachel mourn the loss of this steadfast anchor in their lives. Born in Los Angeles, childhood in Tarzana , his family moved to Woodland Hills where he attended Ridgewood Military Academy and Taft High School . He earned his single pilot's license in 1967 & was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1973. Terry resided in Seattle until moving to Bee Caves /Spicewood in 1982. He hand built the family cabin and recreated a semblance of his childhood farm life. He attended the Friends Meeting of Austin (Quaker) for several years. A man of prodigious skills, he had an extensive varied library , avidly living his father's maxim " you can learn anything if you learn to read."

There will be a circle of remembering in later January.

What a wonderful photo of Terry. I met Terry just before he and Rachel
were married, so I have been in their Zone from the beginning, for around 4 decades. He was such an interesting and kind person - stoic self-contained, skilled, highly masculine yet sweet as pie. I witnessed the skill and care with which he built their homestead from scratch out in the country near the Pedernales. I feel very privileged to have known this quiet genius who married my friend Rachel and produced two great sons. My heart and much love goes out to Rachel, Stevie and Marshall, and I am extremely comforted with the certain knowledge that Terry is still very much here in spirit.

I remember Terry always pursuing a variety of topics and delving in to discover every aspect of the subject. He was well versed on so many things and was a fount of knowledge.
