Terry Tyson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2013.
Terry Lawrence Tyson, Sr., 80, passed from this world into the arms of his heavenly Father on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was born March 21, 1933, to Daniel P. (Barney) Tyson and Leta Hudspeth Tyson in Breckenridge, Texas, where he grew up and met his beautiful bride and wife of fifty-five years, Janis P. Tyson. Terry graduated from Breckenridge High School, attended Texas A&M University, and served in the U. S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged. Mr. Tyson worked most of his life in the petroleum industry and retired from Exxon in Baytown after twenty-two years of service. Terry was active in the community, coaching ball teams and working in the church. Everyone that knew Terry loved him because they sensed his genuine love of them, his God, his family, and life in general. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Janis; daughters, Dr. Sandra K. Tyson and Shari Creel; his son, Terry L. (Ty) Tyson, Jr.; his grandchildren, April J. Bruce, Daniel L. Goss, Shane B. Creel, Kristin R. Creel, Jared R. Creel, C. Sean Bridges, Kathrine L. (Katy) Tyson and Brannan J. E. Tyson; and great grandchildren, Damian E. Bruce, Malcolm O. Bruce, Ryan S. Goss, Delilah M. Goss, Luke J. Goss, Penelope N. Goss, June C. Aston, Cullen B. Creel and Abigail G. Bridges. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. The celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, with Reverend John Mark Benson of Sagemont Church officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
