Tex Ritter

Tex. W. Ritter, 71, passed away at 3 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at his rural Macy, Indiana residence. He was born to the late Rufus George and Martha Lou Cressel Ritter Aug. 27, 1942, in Eccles, West Virginia.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca J. Nelson; sons, Daniel W. Ritter, of Peru, Indiana, and Chad W. Nelson (Lesley), of Wabash; daughters, Annette M. Webb (Gerald), of Wabash, Bobbi L. Ritter, of Houma, and Virginia M. Nelson, of Wabash; brother, Wayne VanDyke Sr., of Marion, Ohio; sister, Crystal Cooper (Doc), of Wabash; grandsons, Kristopher Webb and Trey Villegas, of Houma, Cory Ritter, of Evansville, Indiana, Coty Ritter (Jackie), of Evansville, and Weslee Nelson of Wabash; three granddaughters, Ali Webb of Old Town, Florida, and Ellen Webb and Paige Nelson, of Wabash; and great-granddaughters, Ivory Halloway, of Wabash, and Emily and Savannah Thomas, of Old Town.
Tex married Rebecca J. Nelson in 1978. He retired from Smurfit Stone Co. after more than 38 years. He loved animals, fishing, and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to any charity.
