Thai McGreivy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2010.
McGREIVY THAI McGREIVY, M.D. On June 6, 2010 after a sudden heart attack at the age of 43. Beloved husband of Katherine McGreivy; devoted father of Nicolas, Luke, Kyle and James; loving son of Susan McGreivy of Ithaca, New York; and faithful brother of Dr. Jesse McGreivy of San Carlos, California. He was predeceased by his father Denis McGreivy of Laguna Beach, California. Originally from Laguna Beach, California, Thai attended Phillips Academy, Andover and then went on to undergraduate studies at University of California, Berkeley. He attended UCLA Medical School and completed his medical residency at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Thai was a founding partner of Medical Emergency Professionals (MEP), a nationally recognized emergency care organization. Thai was an active member of his community and will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched. As an emergency room physician, Thai saved many lives. He continued to do so after his death as an organ and tissue donor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Bethesda Theatre, 7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda on Thursday, June 17 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Thai McGreivy, M.D. Memorial Fund/CFNCR," 1201 15th Street NW, Suite 420, Washington, DC 20005, to sponsor scholarships for excellence and intellectual curiosity in science, mathematics and economics.
