My daughter and her classmate were to choose a veteran to research for a little project at school and they discovered Thalia. The girls are both themselves the daughters of veterans (their Dads) and although they are of course very proud of their Dads they wanted to find a female veteran to research. They were so excited to find Thalia, she is an amazing role model.
They wanted me to let the family know how sorry they were for your loss , we all are and I wanted to make sure you realized that her memory lives on in the hearts of people who didn't even have the honor of ever meeting her in person.

I never knew CW2 Ramirez past away. I found out after I was out of the military. I used to see her in passing when we were in flight school. She was always motivated and should be an inspiration to all.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Ramirez Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

As a spouse of an active duty soldier and a woman, I am deeply saddened to hear of your ultimate sacrifice but feel much admiration and honor to have even lived in the same town as you. I did not know you or your family but I am forever grateful for the sacrifices you have made. May you rest in peace and may God give your family peace.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Thalia will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

Thalia's father-in-law (one of our favorite pilots) always spoke so highly of her, and was soooo excited at the possibility of flying her home from Afghanistan. Thalia sounded like an amazing person, who experienced and sacrificed so much in her short life. We are always so honored to be a part of flying the military home from deployment. We wish we could have had the chance to return Thalia home safe and sound. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Thalia's husband, family and friends.

Thalia was a true professional. The last time I saw her was in Nairobi, Kenya in 2009. She was a young, confident, focussed and beautiful young woman. Everyone loved her. As a close family friend, we are truly devastated. There are simply no words to express how we, your family and friends loved you. You will be dearly missed. God Bless.

September 14, 2012

Thalia was an amazing person. I met her when I first came back in in the Army in 2006. As an older soldier it was difficult but, she motivated me on runs and was right there cheering me along on PT test. I remember when she got accepted to pilot school and we hugged in the hallway of 87th CSSB as I congratulated her and told her how proud I was of her. RIP Chief..You will never be forgotten..

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to CWO2 Thalia S. Ramirez our Sister in Arms. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Thalia. And to Thalia it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for the ultimate sacrifice she made while deployed to Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a sister warrior lay down her life for another. Thalia, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Thalia's family and loved ones.

Thalia was a contact for care packages on Any Soldier.com where she distributed supplies with those around her. Her thoughtfulness will live on with them. Outside the door of the Chapel dedicated to Saint Joan or Arc at Marquette University. There reads a sign. "The tomb of a hero is in the hearts of the living" Thalia, Thank You!
