Thea Ryals Obituary
Thea met her future husband, Arthur (Art) Houston Ryals, an American soldier, in Munich, and moved to the USA in
1963. The couple married in 1964 in Reno, NV, and eventually settled in Campbell, CA, in the San Francisco Bay Area to raise their family. Thea achieved her US citizenship in 1975, proud to become an American citizen. Later years saw them moving to Los Banos to be closer to their son and his family, and finally to the Crescent City area in 2021. Thea and Art spent time in Montana with their daughter and her family whenever they had the chance to getaway. Thea took many trips with her daughter and grandkids, including visiting Glacier, Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore National Parks. Thea also loved the ocean and enjoyed many visits to the beach with her kids and grandkids. These trips were always filled with laughter and adventure.
A devoted homemaker and a professional home health care aide for ten years, Thea was deeply committed to the well-being of her family, providing them with love, support, and wonderful meals. Her home was a warm and welcoming space, filled with the beauty of the flowers and plants she nurtured with her green thumb. Gardening and canning were among her favorite activities, alongside knitting and playing cards.
Thea is survived by her loving daughter Sandra Morris (Bill), son Arthur Ryals Jr (April), granddaughters Alyssa Miller(Aaron), Kyla Gibson(David), Brooke Morris, and Logyn Gonzalez, grandsons Tyler Ryals and Trenton Gonzalez, and great-grandsons Milo, Mason, and Jesse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Meta Haeger, sister Ingrid Klein, and her beloved husband Arthur Ryals Sr.
Thea's life was a beautiful tapestry of family, care, and community, woven through with the threads of love and dedication. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
