Thelma Millard Obituary

Thelma Millard (Poupore) 1919-2016 predeceased by husband Stanley Millard, passed away peacefully on July 8 at St. Mary's hospital surrounded by son Neil, daughter-in-law Lise, grandson Mark and granddaughter Stephanie. Thelma spent the last 4 years at the Vista Residence where she had many wonderful friends and actively participated in the daily entertainment. Thelma will also be remembered as an avid golfer and curler, enjoying both into her late 80s. She proudly participated in the Canadian Ladies Senior Golf Championship as a member of Team Quebec and had the rare feat of achieving an 8-ender in curling. Thelma had a welcoming, cheerful and optimistic personality, and was always quick to serve guests a perfect cup of tea. Right up until her last days she had her daily ritual of reading the financial news while the CBC News Channel played in the background and took great delight in following her winning stock picks! Her final resting place will be in Pembroke, Ontario. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Thelma.
