The beauty and impact of special people continues beyond their physical presence. Thelma was an inspiration to me and I cherish the time we had together through music.

my lovely mother. so many child-hood & growing-up memories. (she actually stuck up for me having one of those gray felt-w-poodles skirts!) amazing music- and brain-related accomplishments through her life. she experienced love in its full sense. mee

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Volger's passing. She was a wonderful woman with a gift of sharing music with children. My children all took lessons and she was wonderful with them. My oldest came to me while he was studying music at ISU and said "I'm so glad I had Music Theory with Dr. Volger. She really helped me know my stuff!" I am honored to say I knew her and will always remember her with great fondness and respect.

I was so honored to know Thelma. She was a very special lady. She taught for me at my studio in Ankeny when she returned from Australia and when I closed, she opened the Ankeny Academy of Music. Her dreams and vision for what she wanted to bring through music to the children of Ankeny propelled all she did. In her tenacity for teaching, especially for those with disabilities, we found a common bond that I truly treasured. I regret losing touch with her the past few years. To her family--please accept my sincere sympathies.

What a joy to have known Thelma! I've have thought of her often and wondered where she was. We have missed her, but now I know she is in God's arms, where she belongs.
