Thelma "Tee" Zerfoss, wife of the late Frank E. Zerfoss, passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2016.
She was born in Glen Lyon, the daughter of the late Stanley and Tillie (Wisinski) Kaftan. She was a graduate of Newport Township High School and the Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business.
She was the administrator of Hampton House Nursing Home for over 20 years, continuing her education in hospital administration by taking classes at Luzerne County Community College, Kings College and the University of Pittsburgh.
Tee was a dedicated Girl Scout leader and an avid duplicate bridge player, becoming a Life Master during the 2009 Bridge Tournament in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Tee is survived by her loving children, Wendie Zerfoss Grabel and her husband, Howard, Bridgewater, Connecticut, Linda Zerfoss Sherrick and her husband, Dr. David, Queensbury, New York, and Frank Alan Zerfoss and his wife, Janice, West Nanticoke; also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Deron Grabel, Ed.D., Matthew Grabel, Amy Sherrick Von Schiller, Dr. Erica Zerfoss Oltra, Amanda Zerfoss Nickle and Rachel Zerfoss; and great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Ben and Jake Grabel and Luca Oltra; and many nieces and nephews; cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Kaftan and Stanley Kaftan; her sisters, Jean Marie Tremblay and Rose Marie Hermansen; and her beloved grandson, Brandon Alan Zerfoss.
Per our mom's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. March 19 in Holy Spirit/St. Adalbert Church, Glen Lyon, where she was a member for many years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 370 7th Ave., suite 1802, New York, New York, 10001; or a charity of your choice.
