Theodora Kreps Obituary
September 14, 1922 - August 24, 2014
Theodora (Teddy) Kreps of Novato, California died peacefully at Marin General Hospital on August 24th 2014 after a long illness. She was a graduate of Stanford University where she earned both a Bachelor's Degree in 1942 and, subsequently in 1962, a Ph.D. in Anthropology. Following her undergraduate studies she worked for many years with Harry Bridges and the ILWU in both San Francisco and Hawaii. She was the daughter of Theodore J. Kreps, an eminent professor of economics at Stanford University.She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Voorhees, also an anthropologist, and three of her siblings, including her brother Donald Kreps of Greenbrae, California. She is survived by her brother Rodney Kreps of Seattle Washington, her sister Panthea Redwood of Alaska and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins including Daniel Kreps and Hal Cranston of San Francisco.
A celebration of her life was held in Novato on September 27th where she was movingly eulogized by her many friends.
