I met Dr. Appel in 1979, when my charge nurse at Boulder Manor referred me to him. I had gotten a diagnosis from a doctor in Denver that I felt uncomfortable with while speaking with my charge nurse she told me I needed to go see Dr. Appel. It was the best thing that I had ever done. The original diagnosis was wrong and he referred me to a Dr. in Denver. He literally saved my life. He was the kindness and most God loving Doctor I ever met. I never forgot about him. If he hadn´t made the diagnosis and sent me to Dr. Eli Brand I would not be here right now. Thank you Dr. Appel and God Bless the family!

My sincere, belated condolences to the family as I just saw this. Dr. Appel was such a wonderful obstetrician for me (late 70´s), so kind and caring. My husband, Marv, and I felt I was getting the very best care with Dr. Appel for our babies to be, David and Anna. One time, Dr. Appel and I discussed good nutrition during pregnancy. I joked my husband was drinking extra orange juice for the baby´s sake. Dr. Appel responded "My wife reminds me to limit it because of how much sugar is in oj" So, I repeated that to MY hubby!

I hope the family is blessed with many fun and lovely memories and has great joy knowing he is with the Lord!
God bless! Mary M Myers

Wendy and I share our deepest condolences. It was an honor and pleasure to know and work with Ted. His legacy will never be forgotten for his dedication to the women of Boulder County and his selfless contributions to the Boulder Medical Center. He will be sorely missed!
