Theodore Howard Blair IV

Theodore Howard "Ted" Blair IV, a 43 year Grays Harbor resident died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at home in Montesano. He was 48. Ted was born March 15, 1963 in Shelton, Washington to Theodore Howard Blair III and Darlene Rae Smith. Ted grew up in Shelton, Union, Montesano and Elma. He attended school in Montesano and Elma and is a graduate of Elma High School's class of 1982. Ted was an accomplished wrestler and was involved in wrestling from elementary through high school. He also played football at Elma and was a part of their first trip to the state playoffs. Ted started working at a young age. His first job was at the Mouncer Family Farm. He went on to work at Wharton's Dairy and started logging right out of high school for Lou Ulakovich in 1983. He helped build the first D.K. Chip mill. Ted went on to work at several logging companies until going into business on his own, logging and thinning. Ted's last two bosses were Dave Williams and Craig Carter. Ted was a member of the Montesano Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, smoking meat, fishing, hunting, classic cars and working on his antique John Deere tractor. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hosting facebook parties and parties at his "Bear Lodge" on the West Satsop River. Ted was a great Dad! He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Ted is survived by his Mother, Darlene Blair of Elma, sons; Kesler Bon Blair, Montesano, Wesley Jamieson, Portland, Oregon, brother, Dennis M. (Lupe) Blair, Ontario, California, sister, LaRayne M. Andrews, Satsop, sister, Jackie (Joe) Coulter, Aberdeen, brother, Michael S. (Andrea) Blair, Forks and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father and a brother, Gregory H. Blair who died in 1983. A public visitation will be held 4-6PM Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 also at Whiteside preceded by a visitation one hour prior to services. The family would like to invite the public to attend a Potluck and Celebration of Ted's Life at the Elma Eagles immediately following funeral services.
