Theodore Burton "Ted" Harp

Theodore 'Ted' Burton Harp, 88, passed away July 31, 2022 after a brief illness. Ted was born October 31, 1933 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of Marvin Wickliffe Harp and Aletha Darden Harp. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School and later from Louisiana State University. While at LSU, he met Gwendolyn Samson and they were married June 6, 1958. Ted was a former naval aviator and retired as a Captain from American Airlines. He was also a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) and Mechanical Engineer (ME). Ted had many hobbies, interests and talents. He raced hydroplane boats, loved to play golf and played his guitar whenever possible. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, wives Gwendolyn Harp and Christel Laughlin; sister Mary Whittington and brother Noel Harp. He is survived by his daughter Dawn Harp, son Ted Harp Jr (Amy), daughter Leslie Anderson (Allen) and son Keith Harp; Step-Daughter Christina (John Copeland) Laughlin, brother James Harp and sister Dorothy (Randy) Cox. Paw Paw will be missed by his 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
