Theodore Pelletier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 21, 2023.
Theodore "Ted" Drew Pelletier, 67, passed away at his home in West Warwick, RI on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Born November 22, 1955 as one of eight siblings, Ted grew up in Fort Kent, ME. A master tradesman, he moved to Connecticut where founded his own company, Titan Steel Erectors, and took great pride in the buildings he and his crew built throughout the Northeast. Later in life, Ted found employment as a shipfitter at General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI. Ted was an independent and private person, who enjoyed golf trips with his friends, weekend outings with his daughters and grandchildren, and family reunions in Maine. He had many friends and acquaintances, particularly around the Bristol, CT area where he lived for over four decades. His work ethic and commitment to a job well done were respected by all who knew him.

Ted is survived by his two daughters Tara (Pelletier) White (married to Eric White) and Lauren Pelletier; two grandchildren Gannon and Willow White; six sisters and brothers, Gary Pelletier, Paulette Knapp, Lynette Berger, Suzette Kobzeff, Leslie Serrao, and Mead Pelletier; his close nephew Shaun Pelletier and family; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Normand Pelletier Sr. and Kathryn Pelletier, and older brother, Norman "Bunny" Pelletier Jr.

Despite the difficulties he encountered with alcohol addiction, Ted was known for his perseverance, sense of humor, and love for his family. Donations may be made in Ted's memory to the Rushford Foundation in Middletown, CT https://rushford.org/giving/donate-now or McCall Behavioral Health Network in Torrington, CT https://mccallbhn.org/donate to aid others in their recovery. The family also expresses their gratitude to all those who offered support and care throughout Ted's journey.

Ted definitely made an awesome impact on myself and those around him with his bullet proof demeanor and work ethic. "These hands are made of iron, baby!" he would say... I worked with him side by side almost every day for over 5 years. I was his go to coworker for a lot of things over that time. We toiled hard together producing work that was a testament to his dedication to quality that may outlive me as it did him as parts in the fleet of the submarines of the U.S. Navy in which we took great pride in crafting together. Every day that guy gave his all to do as much work as humanly possible and I firmly believe they don't make 'em like Teddy any more. I felt honored to present him with the last birthday card he would ever get after we all signed it last November on his last birthday. I told him that we loved him, and we almost brought our old Teddy Bearskins to tears. Unlike those tears that did fall when his crew and I learned he had clocked out for the last time. That guy will be forever known by those of us that worked along side him closely at EB as a brother. He is and will be missed. My condolences and prayers are with his remaining family, and thank you Ted, for being one of a kind.
