Uncle Ted was the my Uncle from my Mother's family. I remember dinners at the Roy's. I was especial fond of his down to earth approach to problems, decision making, and patience with others. His understanding nature is what I remember the most. My mother so loved her brother. Tim & Cindy Hill

I first met Ted when he came to grade school in Wetona. We became life long friends and enjoyed many notes and letters over the years from "Beautiful downtown East Smithfield" and "Beautiful downtown Wellsboro." We will miss our summer visits. One of my favorite memories was an invite to a corn husking bee on hartnesssburg road at their farm.

Dear Roy family,
I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to meet Ted & Maxine years ago while hanging out with JoAnne. And then more recently, to see them at the museum where I work. Such terrific people. And just like so many have said, Ted will always be remembered for his kindness & radiant smile, and for his legacy of faith! Carry it forward!

When I arrived in East Smithfield Ted introduced himself as Ted Roy the man with two first names. That's so you will never forget me, he said. And I never have. Our prayers go out to Maxine and the family.

I will always remember how you called me an "old maid". I'd say but Uncle Ted I'm not old and I'm not a maid. You'd say no your not old but your not married yet so that makes you an old maid... as your giving me a hug.
