I WAS SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT TED.. HE WAS A GREAT GUY...

Peter Skokos

January 14, 2017

Cousins: Very sorry to hear of Uncle Ted's passing. My most telling story of his character was at my wedding over 25 years ago when he brought the family up to Jersey. He was now the eldest Skokos family member and he pulled me aside to tell me words of wisdom about my future life. Now this is the part where you expect the "Jaded Uncle" would scream "Plastics" and I would be running off with Katherine Ross...his words of wisdom were not about his favorite golf or basketball games nor about the financial success he had had but about his greatest joy, raising his family, the different personalities, the different interests and the different successes.
The greatest accomplishment was raising his family.
Thank you Uncle Ted for those words that I treasure more than anything else I will ever accomplish or have.

What a wonderful life! Ted did so much for so many for so long. We should all be thankfull he was part of our church and community. It is not often we get to see a life so well lived and so positive in so many aspects. Like many, our main contacts were with baseball and Ted teaching our kids how to play a position. Three boys played catcher and none broke a finger thanks to his instruction. His smile, his enthusiasm, his love of folks, kids, sports, excellence, and life set a high standard I hope others can follow.

What an ambassador he was for the town and the children who lived in it! Dr. Ted was the human being we should all strive to be . He cared and put his caring into action. I walked by that house many days on my way to the ballparks and as I did I always admired the house. As I grew older, I admired the people within that house and the parents that Ted and Betty were. The Bob Thompson women feel your loss but know you have stacks of wonderful memories ! Be at peace .

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Skokos' passing. He was a phenomenal, generous man. In addition to the church league church fields, he was so gracious to allow First Methodist teams to practice in the additional field in his personal backyard. He and Mrs. Skokos were so kind to tolerate all the extra cars and foot traffic at their home. It was always enjoyable to visit with them.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Skokos passing. Even though I have not seen him in years, his name came up in conversations from time to time as a top notch person and was known as a man who did was he said he would do. He was a man of his word. God bless him. My prayers go out to the family.
