Dear Jay,
So sorry to hear about your loss.
I was out of town this week thus unable to attend the service for your dad.
It's unfortunate that we lose touch with friends we grew up with in elementary & high school, only to re-connect under these unfortunate circumstances. My deepest sympathies to you & your entire family. As much as your dad was larger than life on air, I had the privilege to meet him a few times in person while we were growing up and he was a swell, down to earth man who made you feel special. Cherish the memories you all have of him and I hope they are a source of comfort for you through this difficult time. Please contact me - I would like to re-connect after all these years.

Our deepest sympathy to the Teven family.
We go back to the 70,s and remember going to Saratoga with Ted & Ellie, staying at different hotels and Ted telling us that when we arrive we should go to Curly's room. Needless to say Curly was bald as a cue ball......Laughter & making people laugh was one of Ted's gifts. Rest in peace my old friend.

My sincerest condolences to the Tevan family.
I like many thousands in their youth grew up listening to Ted on CFOX in the 70's and followed him after Sport's Rap.
Ted for me truly is an icon in the radio business and the city of Montreal will never forget the contribution he made.

The Tepper Law Office Staff have heard many great stories about Dorothy's Brother who was 8 years younger with blond curly hair. We know how much Dorothy cherished her Brother. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Tevan and Shanas Families at this very difficult time. The Tepper Law Office Staff.

Listening to Ted at night was one of the hightlights of my early life in Montreal. I loved his show. There will never be another like him. From the spirited chorus of "You're Gone!" followed by staccato machine gun fire to the fond remembrances he always regaled us with, Ted will remain part of the fabric that made Montreal radio great. My condolences to his family.

On behalf of the members of the Radio in Montreal Group, our condolences to the Tevan family. Somewhere there is a great radio station playing with Balcan, Sinclair, Blackman, Patrick, Paul Reid, etc. at the microphones. Now Ted joins that legendary line-up. Ted will be fondly remembered.

Thank you, Ted, for the wonderful memories of 1979, 1980, when with pillow speakers we listened to your show and fell asleep with a smile, or a chuckle, or both. You are a legend and you live on. Now you need to keep your family company and console them. God bless you.

My regards to the Tevan family.
Ted will truly be missed by many.
To this day I still listen to the radio while lying in my bed at night , although it is not nearly as entertaining.
Mentor to many , unsurpassed by none. RIP

Ted Tevan, Montreal’s most charismatic radio personality from the golden age of our youth thrived at a time when his adopted city of Montreal had reached its apogee.
Nobody since has ever come close to capturing the imagination of so many fiercely loyal listeners who were on the band wagon.
Ted had the ability to be interesting on any topic, he elevated callers by describing them as “you’re the most important person in the city”. Ted was courageous enough to unleash his passions completely unshackled, the audience appreciated his honesty and uniqueness.
With Ted, he never followed straight lines so you never knew where he was going. Sports frequently took a back seat to "the game of life". That’s what made him such a standout.
The last of the big Montreal radio icons will be tremendously missed.

Montreal has lost a true treasure ! Ted Tevan, was a GREAT star to many. Ted and I shared a friendship along with many other guys at Blue Bonnets. We all spent many nights there laughing and exchanging GREAT stories. He was a kind and generous person, to those of us HONORED to have called him our friend. MAY YOU REST IN ETERNAL PEACE. With the fondest memories, General Bull Moose and family.

As a kid growing up I would lie in bed with the radio hidden and listen to Teds sports shows and couldn't wait for some clown to call in so Ted could give him the machine gun and say, you're outta here. Ted really was straight arrow. Thanks for the memories...

I had the opportunity to handle the control board for Ted Tevan at CFOX Montreal for his SportsTalk show. He was a master of the "on-air phone conversation". He had a huge host of followers who he knew knew by name. They would begin calling, sometimes an hour early, just to get their chance to talk to Ted. Often times they would offer controversial comment, knowing that Ted would strongly disagree -- and "punch them off the phone line" with his never-to-be-forgotten shout of "YOU'RE GONE!!!"
Yes, it's been decades since those memorable CFOX years, but I've told stories of working with Ted to a couple thousand broadcast students, who have had a chance to enjoy hearing about the antics of a very colorful and talented broadcaster. It was good knowing Ted. . . !

My condolences to the Tevan Family.
I met Ted when we both were at CFOX. I was in the traffic department.
There was a speaker in my office and if I close my eyes, I can still hear his voice booming over the air. He certainly was an outstanding personality and had a large fan base. He will be remembered. Treasure your memories.

I first met Ted Tevan during a fundraiser he was involved with that took place at Laurentian Lanes when I was a young child. He was no stranger in my home since we listened to him on CFOX all the time. No one did talk radio like Ted. My fondest memory was when, during this fundraiser, he asked me to sit beside him while he waited his turn to bowl. He saw how tickled pink I was to meet him and turned to me and said, "You're a Honey" - this was about 35 years ago.
I am very saddened to hear of Ted's passing. He was a kind and generous man who will surely be missed by many. To his family, I send my sincere and heartfelt condolences.

I listened to Ted throughtout my years in Montreal. One fond memory was when I won Expo tickets on the radio on Ted's show and he personally met me at Chenoys in the West Island on a Sunday night to buy me a cup of coffee and give me the tickets. He was quite a guy and will be missed.
