I just found this post as my mom (Rosie) and I were just talking about Mr. Vittitoe. She worked in the office at LHS for years and had such fond memories of him. And though I never took physics, I still remember a presentation that Mr. Vittitoe did, trying to inspire potential students to take his class ("The Magic of Physics" or something like that). Though the physics were impressive, I couldn't help thinking he was even more fun! And I still remember this all 36 years later. Rest in peace, Mr. Vittitoe.

Sorry to learn of Mr. Vittitoe's passing. I took AP Physics from him at LHS in 1985-86. One of the best teachers I ever had. Was just talking to my HS daughter about him. RIP.

I just found out about Ted's passing. He was my instructor for a couple of AP Physics Institutes and a workshop. I remember him fondly as an inspiring and calm person. He helped me get started with AP Physics. Now, 14 years later, I am an AP Consultant and AP Reader. I remember him well and am grateful for his assistance and encouragement.

I just learned of Ted's passing. I was privileged to have Ted as my AP Physics instructor at Western Kentucky University during their week of AP workshops -- not once but three times! I daily use his power point lectures in my classes. Every year I have taught AP Physics, my students have learned about Mr. Vittitoe and his humor and tricks for problem solving. I am so sorry for your loss. I was blessed to know him!

I only learned of his passing in July, 2013. He was a great teacher -- I took 2 years of AP physics with him -- and am saddened by this news

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I just found this out. I took Mr. Vittitoe's physics class in 86-87 at Libertyville, and I struggled. He kept me on track with his patience, humor, and interesting lectures. I learned problem solving from him and use it to this day. He was a great teacher.

I just read of Mr. Vittitoe's passing, and I am very sorry for your loss. He was my teacher for AP Physics at LHS in '87 and '88. The summer between HS and UofI, I took the Physics class he taught at CLC so that I would have him for all of Physics Requirements of my degree. He was a fantastic teacher and one of the reasons I pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have very fond memories of him, his class and his instruction. He will long be remembered in my thoughts.

I am so saddened to hear about your loss! I wish I had known so that we could have attended the service.
Ted was an incredible person who loved his wife and dog so much! I so much enjoyed his talks on kitchen remodeling, his fence painting experiences, his wife's woodworking and shopping talents (and returns) :), and his wonderful stories of the dogs (past and present) Most of all, he shared his love for teaching and for physics. He was so engaging and this spring so looking forward to learning new technologies to enhance his classes. I will miss him dearly and offer my condolences to his family. They don't make them like Ted anymore and I feel blessed to have known him! He will be sorely missed at SCF.
