Ted Vollmer and his beloved aunt,Mrs. Schnur, were very much a part of the Doder Family for many many years as my grandmother, father, mother and two brothers were buried from Schnur Funeral Home. Ted was one of the kindest and most compassionate persons I have ever met. I mourn his passing. May the Good Lord grant him a place in His Heavenly Kingdom "where there is no sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting". May his memory be eternal.

"Aunt" Laura:

We're so sorry that your dad has passed away. I wish we would have known in time to attend the services. We'll always remember how fun he was even though it's been years since we lived in St. Louis.

From the days at Palace Bowl with my parents to Friday nights at Mr B's with my husband, mother and aunt - Ted was always a joy to be with - he knew how to laugh and spread joy! He also was my rock through the worst times the loss of my mother and other cherished family members. It is through those times he was especially appreciated the most. I thank God that I got to appreciate both the good times and bad times of my life with Ted. He was a true and cherished friend and we will miss him dearly! I know in my heart there is beer flowing in heaven as he and Mary have been reunited with the old Palace gang! They are together again.

Ted, along with Mrs. Schnur, was there for my Mother when my Father died in April of 1954. He was always a friend of the family's. His kindness and dignity helped my Mother through those hard times. She ended up raising three sons on her own. I was the youngest at 6 years of age.
Thank you, Ted and may God Bless You.

To the Vollmer Family:

Sorry I will not be able to attend Ted's visitation or funeral Mass due to prior committments. Please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss.

Ted's brother Bill was a fellow classmate of mine at C.B.C.High School from 1946 to 1950. That is where I first met Ted.

As a fellow funeral director I would see Ted every once in a while at a C.B.C. alumni event or elsewhere.

May his soul Rest in Peace.
