Theresa Brower Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 12, 2025.
Theresa Ann "Terri Ann" Brower (née MacCallum), 71, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida, after a sudden illness, surrounded by her family.

Born on January 21, 1954, and raised in Rutherford, New Jersey, Terri Ann graduated from Rutherford High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Felician College in Lodi. She became board-certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC), dedicating her career to compassionate care.

Terri Ann began her nursing journey as a medical/surgical nurse in Galveston, Texas, where she treated patients injured on Gulf oil rigs. She later served for over twenty years at Bergen Regional Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey, as a certified child psychology nurse. Even after retirement, she continued to support others by volunteering with her hospice comfort dog, Emma, offering solace to patients in nursing homes and hospitals throughout her community.

She shared nineteen years of marriage with her husband, James Brower. Their home in Caldwell, New Jersey was a place of warmth and joy during festive gatherings and holidays. After retiring, she lived in Savannah, Georgia before settling in Boca Raton.

Terri Ann was predeceased by her mother, Theresa MacCallum; her father, Robert MacCallum; and her husband, James Brower. She is survived by her brother James MacCallum; sisters Elizabeth Cheney and her husband Carl; and Samantha Nolan.

Theresa Ann Brower will be remembered for her enduring compassion and lifelong dedication to helping others. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manatee County Animal Welfare at 305 25th St W, Palmetto, FL 34221; phone: (941) 742-5933; email: [email protected].

Terri will always be remembered for the love she shared and showed to her late husband Jim. They were the perfect pair. I remember the first time I had met Terri. I was with Liz and she was taking me to meet her sister and brother-n-law (Terri and Jim) for the first time. I was so nervous but Terri, instead of drilling me she gave me a hug and welcomed me to their home. She offered me a beverage and asked Jim to fire up their grill. She was the perfect host during holidays, always thinking of everything and always making me feel welcome. She loved to sing, I remember countless times her and Liz sitting around thinking about music and starting to sing.

Terri made the world a better place by putting her nursing skills to use with children, later with oil rig works and finally after retiring she would visit patients in hospice with her Emma her dog that brought to both her and and the patients she was visiting.

Terri you are once again with your loving husband Jim and your mother and father. Here on earth you will be missed.
