Hughsonville, N.Y. - Theresa R. Cservak Hamilton, 99, passed away in her sleep at home on Sunday, September 14, 2014. She was a resident of the Town of Wappinger for 90 plus years.

Born in Roseton, N.Y., Orange county, August 21, 1915, she was the daughter of John Cservak Sr. and Theresa Pollack Cservak. On January 21, 1934, she married Robert W. Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton predeceased her on July 1, 1950.

She was predeceased by a son Stephen, a son Robert, a daughter Shirley Hamilton Brothers and a grandson Robert Morris. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Hamilton of Poughkeepsie, and Catherine Hamilton of Hughsonville. She has six grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

She retired from IBM in 1977, after 25 years. Theresa was a member of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls, Catholic Daughters Court Queen of Peace, IBM Quarter Century Club, American Association of Retired Persons, Stonykill Foundation, Honorary member of the N.Y.S. Sheriffs Association.

She spent many years in volunteer work at Vassar Bros. Hospital, American Red Cross, Stonykill Foundation, and Mt. Alvernia Retreat House. Theresa was a life member of the former Hughsonville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved working in her yard, and gardens. She also had a love for animals, raising many rescue dogs.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St. Wappingers Falls on Friday at 10:00 AM. As per Theresa's request, cremation will take place and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
