Theresa Holloway Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 3 to Nov. 6, 2015.
Clarence Theresa Holloway, affectionately known as "MaDear," was born July 1, 1939, to the late Clarence Holloway and Lydia Douglas Young in Baton Rouge Louisiana. She departed this life on Sunday, November 1, 2015. More than 45 years ago, Theresa turned her life over to Christ and has since been a long standing member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. In her tenure with Shiloh Theresa had been a part of many ministries, but none was as dear to her as the food ministry. Everyone who knew her knew that while her spirit may have touched people's hearts it was her food that touched their souls. Theresa has been preceded in Death by her parents, Clarence Holloway, and Lydia Douglas Young. She is survived by her children: Rhonda Holloway, Jonathan Holloway (Yvonne Holloway) Karen Holloway-Pride (Rev. Herman Pride II), Derrick Holloway (Tessa Holloway) Terri Bonnie (Lilburn Bonnie); Grandchildren: Erica Bindom, Sharell Bindom, Lance Cummings, Haile Holloway, Zachary Holloway, Nicholas Holloway, Blake Holloway, Katie Pride, Trey Pride III, Collin Holloway, Chad Holloway. She is also survived by her close family and friends: Willie Mae Young Taylor, Loi Taylor, Shelia Young Butler, Tracey Neldare, Patricia Mitchell, Bobby Brown, Janice Brown, Katherine Tunious, Sharon Tunious, Minnie Rodney, Alma Cherry, Jackie Williams, Gloria Johnson, Belinda Collins and a host of others. Visitation at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson Sr. Dr., Thursday, November 5, 2015, from 9:00 am until religious service at 11:00 am, conducted by Pastor Fred Jeff Smith; interment at Southern Memorial Gardens.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bring comfort and eternal peace to Theresa's precious family and dear friends. Through my mother (Theresa's cousin), I am thankful to have met her. She was the best maker of cakes ever and her gorgeous hat collection was like nothing I've ever seen before. Her beautiful spirit of hospitality will be greatly missed. "Well done, good and faithful servant, Theresa Holloway."
