In memory of

Theresa and Samantha Supica

Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

It has been years since this tragic event took place, yet I still can't quite believe it really happened. I'm almost convinced that I'll wake up, back in the summer after 7th grade, to find out it was all just an awful dream. Sam was one of my only friends throughout sixth grade, and the news was a hard blow. Since I had just moved, I couldn't visit, and haven't been able to since.
While I don't know the rest of the Supica family very well at all, she spoke very highly of them, so I know they do not deserve this; nobody does. I'm so sorry.

We're all still reeling and shocked.

But somehow, even in death, they have given us the strength to move on.

Loved forever.

I just learned of this incident in today's Slauson "The Bear Facts," which said a group is donating a marker and flowers in Samantha's memory for Slauson's entryway garden. I want you to know our daughter, Emma Rubenstein, passed away from leukemia about a year before Samantha. Emma had just graduated Slauson. There is a bench out front with a plaque in her memory, and I'd like to think she and Samantha are together looking over the beautiful children who attend there. And will be for a long, long time. We still have a daughter at Slauson, and it is bittersweet every time we visit. But know Samantha influenced everyone she touched and will be remembered. I am so sorry.

In Switzerland, where some of my family is from,we have a saying that says the ones who grieve the most are those left behind...remember they are in a better place now and after the tears, remember to hold those memories close to your hearts with the joy they gave you every day they were on this Earth. No one can change those precious memories or take them away ever. As hard and corny as this sounds right now,it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. Soime people go through life to never have experienced the fun , the joy and love you shared with your wife and daughter and never know the meaning of such wonderful content feelings.
You remain in our prayers and thoughts, as we all hug our loved ones a bit more tightly tonight. Treat yourself gently and remember they are with you still in your heart and watching from Heaven until you see them again one day.

In sympathy and peace,
Sandy and son Ed Kellermann

Dear Supica Family- We are so very sorry to hear about your terrible, unimaginable loss. My husband and I were driving down to the same field hockey tournament. We were directed off of the highway at Richmond to travel around the accident, and then to learn that people we have seen in Ann Arbor were in it, was incredibly sad. My daughter, Sarah, knows Sydney from Pioneer Field hockey. May God bless you and help to heal you. Most Sincerely, The Drake Family

Aunt T and Sammie, our hearts hurt so much knowing that you are both gone from this Earth. We know that you are both in Heaven, and that you are both now our special angels. T, thank you for your smile, your laugh, and the many memories that we made over the years, from the New Years parties, to the barbeques, to helping us plan our wedding...Samantha, you were an angel on Earth, and now you are our angel in Heaven! You both touched the lives of so many people, and you will never, ever be forgotten. We will take great care of Scott, Syd and Sloane, and not to forget the puppies! You will continue to shine your light in our lives and the lives of so many others. We love you both so much, and we will see you one day.
