Theresa Whiting Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2025.
Theresa Whiting, a cherished soul in the tapestry of life, passed into the Summerland on the evening of January 14th. She was a beacon of light, kindness, and compassion, whose presence enriched all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Theresa's life was a testament to the sacred values of love, community, and nurturing. She embodied the spirit of the Mother, opening her home and heart to not only her own children but the children of the neighborhood, ensuring they had a safe haven to gather, grow, and be nourished-not just with food, but with love and understanding. Her hearth was always warm, her table always welcoming, and her smile ever-present.

As the Wheel of the Year turned, and her own children grew and began families of their own, Theresa's heart expanded to embrace her grandchildren as the center of her world. She delighted in their laughter, guided them with wisdom, and celebrated the magic in their everyday lives. For them, she was a storyteller, a teacher, and an eternal wellspring of unconditional love.

Theresa walked gently upon the Earth, leaving behind a legacy rooted in the principles of care and connection. Her kindness was a ripple that spread far and wide, touching lives and inspiring those around her to embrace the sacredness of community and family.

She has now returned to the embrace of the next life, her spirit carried by the elements to the next journey in the cycle of existence. Though her physical presence has left us, her essence remains in the rustle of the wind, the warmth of the sun, the grounding of the earth, and the whispers of the waters.

Theresa is survived by her children Sunshyne, Jeremiah, and Robert, her grandchildren Johnathan, Aradia, Serenity, Weylyn, Aiden, Braydin, her brothers Lawrence, James, sisters Marie, Mary, and the countless lives she touched with her generous heart. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years Donald, her mother Theresa, father Marvin, sister Rose, brother Marvin and Eugene, and grandson Izaya. She will be remembered with love, honored in the turning of the seasons, and celebrated in the light of every candle lit in her name.

In her memory, we encourage acts of kindness and giving to those in need, continuing her legacy of love and care.

May her journey be peaceful, and may her spirit find joy in the in the next life.
