Therese Margaret deVries (née Koskey), also affectionately known as Terri, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at the age of 89, at The Rucki Hospice Care Center in Zephyrhills, Florida. Born on January 15, 1935, in Queens, New York, she was the cherished only child of Stanley and Betty Koskey.

Therese was revered for her loving and caring nature, complemented by a sassy and quick-witted personality. Raised in Queens and later residing in Elmont, New York, she fostered deep-rooted relationships that lasted throughout her lifetime. In 1985, Therese relocated to Tampa, Florida, where she continued to touch lives with her kind-heartedness and lively humor.

A devoted mother and homemaker, Therese dedicated her early years to nurturing her five children in Elmont. She later joined the workforce, holding positions at The Pennysaver in Rockville Center, The Flyer Media Group, and Chase Manhattan Bank in Tampa, from which she retired. Her colleagues remember her fondly for her warmth and the strong friendships she cultivated.

Therese also found joy in her hobbies, which included gardening, cooking, decorating, and coloring, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She was a faithful congregant of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Tampa.

She leaves behind a loving family: daughters Bettyann Pitti, Tracey Adipietro (Patrick), Nancy deVries; sons Theo deVries (Gloria), Michael deVries (Alicia); 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Betty Bohenek Koskey, and son-in-law, Dennis Pitti.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 3-5 PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida 34655. Family visitation and condolences 3-4 PM, followed by a prayer service.
