It is with great sadness that the family of Tho Thi Mai announces her passing. Tho, age 67, passed away peacefully at 11:34 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family.
Tho was born in Phuoc Hoa, Vietnam on April 28, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Xinh Van Nguyen and Xinh Thi Mai; brother, Tong; sister, Truong; and godparents, Elmer and Sylvia Hall.
Tho is survived by her five daughters and one son: Trina and her husband, Cuong; Hong and her husband, Tien; Tien and her husband Tuyen; Tu and her husband, Khoi; Thuong and her husband, Mike; Hoang and his fiancée, Huong. She is also survived by her seven grandkids: Kenny, Emily, Nathan, Chance, Kason, Ethan, and Lucas.
Tho was an amazing, selfless woman who meant the world to her family and was loved by everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed and will forever be remembered by her family and friends. The family would also like to thank Dr. Henry Ivey and Good Samaritan Hospice for their support in her last days.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, December 14, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Oakey’s Funeral Home, North Chapel, located at 6732 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Thay Thich Chuc Do at Mountain View Cemetery, located at 1401 Mountain View Road, Vinton, VA 24179.
