I can't believe it's been 2 years since Andrew left us. I was a nurse on the Rehab unit and worked with Andrew for many years. He was an amazing doctor who respected the nurses he worked with. I considered him a friend and respected him as a doctor. He took such great care of his patients and was invested in their outcomes. He had a great love for dark chocolate and I loved dropping off bags of Dove dark chocolates on his desk so he always had them available. We lost and amazing man far to soon. I will miss him and his kindness forever.

We ran almost daily when we were fellows together, or we biked, and we lifted weights. We joked that while we were supposed to be clinical scholars we were in fact on the clinical athlete track. He was gracious and kind and we just enjoyed one another. He did his very best to educate my palate and taste for wine, but alas I'm from the Ozarks and was placed here, among other reasons to challenge Andrew's patience. I found him so non-judgmental and accepting and will remember him that way. "Dare to be average" he'd say to me, and I used that phrase to learn self-compassion.

Andrew leaves a very tall hole in our hearts. There was so much in him to admire. He was authentic-a deep thinker, clear in his values, and could wield a potato peeler with grace and good humor.
May those whom he loved so dearly be comforted by a wealth of memories.

I worked with Andrew for 12 years on the Intermountain Healthcare Neuro Rehabilitation Center. I learned so much from him! I loved his love for dark chocolate and I occasionally put a bag of Dove Dark Chocolates on his desk for holidays and we I felt I wanted him to know he was appreciated. I now have his love for dark chocolate. I love that he cared for his patients and family members with his heart. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to listen to the nurses and therapists input about care and treatments for his patients. I sadly was forced into early retirement and missed working with Andrew from 2013 to the end of his career. I knew he was always interested in helping me to find ways to treat my Fibromyalgia and Lupus Symptoms. I know all of his staff loved him dearly. He forever touched my life by his example. The work lost a great man far to soon. I'm sending healing thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Thank you for sharing him with us!!
