Thomas Walter Bartsch, Jr. 95, of Williamsburg, VA passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Peggy) Scholz Bartsch, his wife of 70 years.

Tom was raised in Pelham, New York, son of Thomas W. Bartsch and Ida Becker Bartsch. He was an Eagle Scout and for many years afterward a Troop Leader. He attended Pelham High School where he was a member of the track, football and basketball teams. He broke an 18-year Pelham High school track record for the 220 that stood for many years. He went on to Nichols College where he was on the "undefeated and untied" 1949 football team and captained the 1950 football team.

Tom raised his family in Rye, New York and worked for Oneida, Ltd. for over 30 years as a regional sales manager. He enjoyed tennis, paddle tennis and lawn bowling at the Coveleigh Club where he served on the Board. He served on the Rye Chamber of Commerce as Peggy co-owned a childrens' clothing store in town. Tom loved to travel and enjoyed many trips abroad with family and friends.

Tom and Peggy retired to Williamsburg where he volunteered at Colonial Williamsburg and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, and their two children Sally Bartsch (David) and Nancy Osborn (David), his daughter-in-law Rosemary and his beloved 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Tom was predeceased by his son Thomas W. Bartsch, III (Rosemary) and his grandson, Timothy Bartsch (Laura).
