Thomas BASTIEN Obituary
Born on August 4, 1926 and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 17, 2011 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (nee McCarthy)(1983). Loving father of Mary Ann Kisch and husband Erwin and Bill Bastien and wife Sharon Pope. Cherished pépé to Ryan and Shawn Kisch and Brandon Bastien. Survived by sisters Evelyn White, Isabelle Laviolette and Helen Lefave and predeceased by sisters Cecile Lozon, Florence Drouillard and Irene Lozon and brothers Eddie and Phil Bastien.Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Tom retired from Canada Post after 20 years of service as a letter carrier. Throughout Tom's life his passion was music and wood working. Also, Tom had been a dedicated member and usher at Blessed Sacrament Church for most of his life. Tom will be remembered for his jovial demeaner and kindness to all. A special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Heron Terrace. Visitation will be held at JANISSE BROS- MARCOTTE FUNERAL HOME (1139 Ouellette Avenue 519-253-5225) on Friday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers 2:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at Blessed Sacrament Church (corner of Prince and King) on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County would be appreciated.

I lived in his neighbourhood when I was very young, I used to walk past his house everyday. I remember his dog Bullet (I think that was his German Shepherds name) Mr Bastien was a very nice man that I will always remember.
